Dark, Darker, Darko

so,

Donnie Darko is one of those movies that really does deserve the hype that has surrounded it. In many ways the Darko universe(s) is as complex and interesting as the world of the Matrix (and similar in many ways). The key differences seem to be that the Matrix is couched inside of a bloodthirsty kung fu, gun-flick, while Darko is a love story with a great soundtrack and beautiful, moody cinematography.

I dig 'em both, but it is interesting to me that Darko took years to catch on and create the cult it has earned, while the Matrix was a hit out of the box. It makes me wanna rev up my search engine optimization and find The Answers.
