Good day,
As promised, here is another poem I wrote on the bus on my way downtown this morning:
Camouflage
Everyone is in
camouflage
and I’m
in blaze
orange.
On this morning bus
a devil’s food
cupcake
in a
tigerstripe
parka
says, “It needs one more paint o’ coat”
into a phone with
no name.
A slice of wheat toast sits
beneath his brush cut
in a tree-covered
hoodie.
He talks with the cupcake
once she folds
her phone -
but they have nothing
to say.
They push the words back
and forth
between themselves
like a child
pushes
a paper boat
into
an incoming
tide.
Like I ride
a downtown bus
with my head
half asleep
on my pillow.

Good work, Joe. I caught you on the Disinfo podcast. Man, I wish you and those guys would do more podcasts about these subjects.
Are there any other podcasts about similar topics you like to listen to or might be able to recommend. I’ve found Red Ice Radio, of course, but so many of the good ones I’ve found have given it up. There was a guy doing a podcast called “Stormy Weather” that was terrific, but he’s gone off the radar.
Well, if you have a minute and know of some good podcasts about the kind of topics you would hear (and that you were involved with) no Disinfo, would you mind passing them along?
