In 2008, Caleb J. Clark was working on a Masters degree at The Interactive Telecommunications Program in the Tisch School Of The Arts at New York University. His thesis was a short film of interviews with the children of hardcore, 1960′s hippies. In Born Dropped Out: 12 Questions for Hippie Kids, Clark examines the perspectives these now-middle-aged-adults bring to subjects ranging from health food to drugs to communal living, education and more.
Featuring lots of vintage images — including a number of black-and-white shots by the great counter-culture photographer Robert Altman — and a rad little banjo soundtrack, this 20 minute flick is as entertaining as it is enlightening.
